SYRACUSE -ÊWawasee School Corp. has agreed to sell some of its property.
At a special meeting Wednesday, the Wawasee Community School Corp. Board of School Trustees approved the purchase agreements for three pieces of its North Webster properties.
For $15,000, the North Webster Church of God will purchase the lot across from the old North Webster Elementary School.
Lots 23 and 24, across from Olson's Casual Furnishings Inc., will be purchased by Al Williams for $55,000.
According to board president Brian Dawes, the lots were auctioned and the bids meet the minimum requirements.
In another matter, the school board approved the refunding documents for refinancing the Wawasee Middle School improvement bonds.
According to Superintendent Mark Stock, the school board already approved for the refunding agreement to proceed, and any delay would cost the school corporation "significant savings."
Board attorney David Cates said the concept of the refinancing is to save the corporation money over some prior bond issues and thus save money for taxpayers. "... This is the way to do it."
Board members present at the meeting Wednesday were Dawes, Jeff Wells and Marion Acton.
