A woman airlifted to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, Friday night after a car accident was upgraded from serious to fair condition today.
Brenda K. Hein, 44, Warsaw, was a passenger in a pickup driven by Ricky D. Allen, 44, Warsaw. Allen reportedly was driving the pickup north on CR 50W when it struck a metal post near the intersection of Hoppus Road at 8:45 p.m.
Allen was not injured, but paramedics transported Hein to Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. Samaritan Air Ambulance later transported her to Parkview, where she was treated for head injuries.
Allen was arrested and booked into Kosciusko County Jail for driving while intoxicated and for being a habitual traffic offender. He was held on a $2,000 bond.
