Warsaw Woman Faces Charges After Repeated Calls To 911

Posted
A Warsaw woman was arrested Sunday afternoon after repeatedly calling 911 without an emergency.

According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Sherry L. Koser, 35, CR 100N, Warsaw, allegedly was "harassing the (Kosciusko County) dispatch center with no intent of legitimate communication."After the first few calls, Koser reportedly was told that she should not use the 911 service for non-emergency calls and was asked to stop calling unless there was an emergency. When Koser reportedly called again, the dispatch center forwarded the call to a sheriff's deputy.

According to the officer's report, Koser allegedly sounded extremely intoxicated and began talking to the officer about a judge's ruling about the custody of her children.

The officer then told Koser that she was not supposed to call the dispatch center without a legitimate reason, and if she did not stop making false calls, she would be arrested.

At that time, Koser reportedly became belligerent and began swearing at the officer.

Koser reportedly then made another 911 call, saying she wanted to speak with the jail about a custody issue.

At that time officers were sent to Koser's home, and when they arrived, Koser reportedly was calling the dispatch center again, saying that she wanted police to retrieve her children for her.

Koser reportedly admitted to drinking, and officers explained that they were taking her to jail for harassing the dispatch center.

While on the way to the jail, Koser reportedly made verbal threats toward another person, repeatedly saying she wanted to shoot them.

Koser was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 4:48 p.m. Sunday for misdemeanor intimidation and harassing communications. Her bond was set at $350.
