Warsaw Woman Critical After Crash

A Warsaw woman is in critical condition at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne after a Wednesday evening accident on U.S. 30.

Debra Lampkin, 35, of Warsaw, was ejected from the pickup she was riding in when it collided with a semi-tractor-trailer on U.S. 30 near CR 250E around 7:05 p.m. Wednesday.

Lampkin suffered extensive head injuries and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital before being airlifted to Parkview Hospital where she was listed in critical condition this morning.According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Lampkin was riding in a 1987 Ford Ranger driven by Michael E. Randall, 51, of Claypool.

Randall reportedly was turning across the westbound lane of U.S. 30 when he failed to yield and hit a westbound 2005 Freightliner semi-tractor-trailer driven by Jason Neves, 32, of Troy, Ohio.

Randall, who suffered neck injuries in the crash, was pinned in the pickup and had to be extricated from the wreckage by the Warsaw Fire Department. He was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital where he was listed in stable condition this morning.

Neves was not injured in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation and toxicology tests are being performed.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department was assisted at the scene of the crash by the Warsaw Police Department, the Indiana State Police, the Winona Lake Police Department, the Kosciusko County Fatal/Alcohol Crash Team, Multi-Township EMS and the Warsaw Fire Department.
