Posted
Debbie McNees, 33, of 657 E. CR 300S, Warsaw, was arrested Friday for battery causing serious bodily injury, aggressive driving and disorderly conduct.
McNees and another woman were driving in McNees’ Honda Accord in Warsaw when they got out of the car in the middle of the road and promptly began fighting each other on July 21.
According to the affidavit of probable cause provided by Kosciusko County officials, the other women was driving the vehicle when she stopped the car for the two women to get out and fight. McNees then got into the vehicle driver’s seat and the victim climbed in through the passenger window to retrieve her cell phone.
McNees then started driving with the victim hanging out of the window, until she fell from the vehicle, getting seriously injured in the process. The victim was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital.
Warsaw Police Department officers spoke with a witness who watched and videotaped the incident of the victim hitting the pavement. Another witness told police that he broke up the fight in the street. The victim attempted to bite that witness and then jumped into the passenger window.
Police met with the victim and observed that the victim’s skin and muscle had been removed from her arms and legs, resulting in extreme pain.
Police later spoke with McNees on the phone, wanting to know her location. McNees said she was too intoxicated to provide a statement, but did admit she was involved in a fight with the victim.
McNees is being held at Kosciusko County Jail on a $10,250 bond.
