Warsaw's tax rate for 1997 will stay the same as its 1996 rate, Mayor Jeff Plank said today.
The rate of $2.63 was set Monday after a meeting with the Indiana State Board of Tax Commissioners. The rate is based on a total assessed property valuation of more than $177 million.
Plank said cuts were made in the 1997 budget, but not in vital programs. He credited department heads and city workers with helping control spending and maintaining a stable tax rate.
