Warsaw Plan Commission Monday approved a preliminary plat request to subdivide property at 921 S. Zimmer Road, Warsaw.
The commission approved a request from Kent and Roxanne Wildman to subdivide 7.7 acres at the Zimmer Road property. The subdivision will replat lot two of Kent Wildman Addition into three new lots.
The subdivision meets the zoning requirement for lot size in order to accommodate a septic system, and will be accessed by a private drive and granted by the ingress and egress and utility easement described within the plat, according to the building and planning department.
In other business, the commission approved a resolution for Winona PVD Coatings LLC.
The resolution is to designate the business as a designated taxpayer to prepare for the city to issue bonds to allow for $2.2 million to be used for the expansion of the business from the Tax Increment Finance district.
“The city will take the tax increment that Winona PVD will be generating and use that to fund the bonds,” Skinner said.
The business wants to add 68,000 square feet of space for finishing work. It also wants to build a new building to the north of the facility of the building on the east side of the property.
In addition, the proposal includes a proposed $8.5 million spent for new production equipment.
Plan commission member George Clemens said he supported the resolution.
“It is a great story in these down economic times when orders are coming into the company and they are needing to expand,” Clemens said.
