Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety will hold a special meeting Wednesday to discuss a Warsaw Police Department personnel issue.
Warsaw Police Department officer Timothy S. Whitright was placed on paid administrative leave Saturday, according to a release issued by WPD this morning.
Whitright, 28, is on leave pending a full and complete investigation of allegations brought to the attention of Scott Whitaker, Warsaw police chief. Whitright joined WPD in September, 2008.
Warsaw Mayor Ernie Wiggins confirmed this morning that Whitright is being investigated over an alleged inappropriate relationship with a Warsaw high school student.
A special Board of Public Works and Safety meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the council chambers at which time the charges will be presented to the board.
The board will be fully engaged in the disposition of the matter upon receipt of charges brought by the chief of police, the release stated.
The board met in executive session Monday night prior to the city council meeting to review the matter.
An agenda for the special meeting was posted Monday at city hall.
