Warsaw Parks Department’s annual Christmas Light Display kicks off Dec. 7 in Central Park.
Hours of operation for the light display will be 4 p.m. to midnight, Dec. 7-31.
The concession stand will be open 5 to 10 p.m. every night except Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.
The “Light up the Night” celebration features the annual Christmas light display, caroling, live reindeer and activities in the park. It is Dec. 7 from 7 to 9 p.m.
“Our display features more than 200,000 lights with 28 rope lighting figurines and six lit displays,” according to Larry Plummer, Warsaw parks superintendent.
New this year will be the wreaths located on the Center Lake office and Center Lake Pavilion as well as a Penguin snowball throwing scene.
These items were purchased from last year’s concession proceeds and donations from IU Goshen Health (silver level sponsor) and Grossnickle Eye Center (bronze level sponsor).
Young Tiger Football and Cheerleading will again volunteer to run the concession trailer.
Walmart is helping with hot chocolate, and McDonald’s on Detroit Street is helping with paper products and also are offering a free soft drink coupon for every purchase at the concession trailer.
The concessions will offer hot chocolate, cookies and popcorn this year. All items are $1 and all proceeds go to future Christmas displays.
“I would like to thank our sponsors and volunteers that make it possible for us to have a quality Christmas experience each and every year,” Plummer said.
Plummer invites everyone to bring their family and friends and enjoy the Christmas display.
“This is a special time of year for all of us to enjoy. I wish everyone a happy holiday season,” he said.
