Warsaw Parks Activity Director Takes New Job

Friday is the last day for Andy McCleary as the Warsaw Parks recreation and activity director.

He resigned from the Warsaw Parks Department recently to take over as the City-County Athletic Complex director. His first day as CCAC director is Monday.

As CCAC director, McCleary said, his duties will be to "operate the day-to day-operations" of the CCAC and schedule events such as softball and soccer games and league play. The CCAC board also requested he bring in new and creative programming to the complex.

"The CCAC approached me and I felt it would be a new challenge that I was unable to turn down," McCleary said. The change in profession, he said, will be a good one for him and still allow him to continue to serve the community.

According to Sibyl Nelson, CCAC board president, "We just felt like the CCAC needed to take a new direction and we felt Andy would be strong in the administration and marketing aspects."

McCleary replaces Dave Kistler, who was with the CCAC for three years.

McCleary was with the parks department since 1997. He graduated from Indiana University in May 1997 with a bachelor's degree in sports management. He is a 1993 Warsaw Community High School graduate.

The CCAC has been in operation since approximately 1993, Nelson said.
