Warsaw moves closer to trailhead park

Posted
The Board of Public Works and Safety of Warsaw approved a grant application for $20,000 that could lead to a new park in Warsaw.
Tim Dombrosky, assistant city planner, presented the information to the board.
Dombrosky said the application was through the Kosciusko County Convention Recreation and Visitors Commission.
The grant is for a project being planned by the Ride-Walk-Warsaw-Winona Lake Advisory Committee for Krebs Trailhead Park, located along South McKinley Street on East  Market Street.
The overall cost of the project is listed at $94,500.
The park is being described as “a main link in the community’s overall transportation and recreation network.”
The grant application states that “when finished the Trailhead will serve as the central hub of both the citywide and countywide networks, providing restrooms and information for cyclists and walkers as they explore our community.”
