Warsaw Man Sentenced In Federal Court

SOUTH BEND - A Warsaw man was sentenced Wednesday to 70 months in federal prison on drug and money laundering charges.

Scott A. Landis, 31, pleaded guilty July 16 to distributing cocaine and marijuana in Warsaw in 1995-96 and to engaging in money laundering during the same time period. He was sentenced in South Bend by U.S. District Court Judge Robert L. Miller Jr.

Landis' prison term was ordered followed by six years of supervised probation and he also was ordered to pay a $200 fine.

According to information provided by the U.S. Attorney's Office, the investigation that led to the arrest of Landis was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Indiana State Police, the Internal Revenue Service and the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department. The matter was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Donald J. Schmid.
