A Warsaw man is in fair condition at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, today after suffering injuries in a two-vehicle collision Thursday.
Robert E. Hay, 40, Warsaw, suffered internal injuries in the accident. He was airlifted to Parkview by the Samaritan Air Ambulance. Three passengers in Hay's vehicle were transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital with minor injuries.
According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department press release, at approximately 9:56 p.m. Thursday, a personal injury accident on Ind. 15, south of Union Street (near CR 400S), was reported to the KCSD.
Upon arrival, KCSD deputies found a two-vehicle collision involving a southbound 2005 black Suzuki four-door and a northbound 1994 tan Honda Accord.
From evidence gathered at the scene, police said the Suzuki allegedly traveled left of center and struck the Accord driven by Hay.
The driver of the Suzuki - Boyd C. Rolston, 28, Warsaw - left the scene of the accident on foot, but later was found by the KCSD. Rolston suffered minor injuries and was transported to KCH for treatment.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.
Assisting the KCSD at the scene were the Warsaw Fire Department, Claypool Fire Department, South Central EMS, Multi-Township EMS and Samaritan Air Ambulance.
The accident remains under investigation.
