A Warsaw man died early Saturday morning in a vehicle crash after striking a tree south of Ind. 25 in Kosciusko County.
Justin W. Ellis, 25, Warsaw, died when his van ran off the road into a tree.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Dept. deputies and emergency personnel responded to a 911 call Saturday morning at approximately 1:59 a.m. of a van crashed into a tree south of Ind. 25 on CR 450W.
Upon arrival, officers found a 1992 GMC van impaled into a tree off the east side of the roadway. Parkview Samaritan helicopter was originally summoned to the scene but arriving paramedics determined that the driver was deceased.
Kosciusko County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team crash investigators stated that the driver of the van, Ellis, had been traveling southbound on CR 450W and for an unknown reason left the roadway and crashed into a tree.
Kosciusko County Deputy Coroner Michael Wilson pronounced Ellis dead at the scene from blunt force trauma.
Kosciusko Count FACT stated the crash is currently under investigation.
Kosciusko County FACT was assisted at the scene by members of the Burket Fire Department, Mentone and Multi-Township EMS, Warsaw Police Department, Indiana State Police and the KCSD.
