Warsaw Man Charged with Molesting 10-Year-Old Girl

A 40-year-old Warsaw man was arrested Thursday on Class A felony child molesting charges after allegedly engaging in sexual encounters with a 10-year-old girl. According to a Warsaw Police Department press release, on Thursday Warsaw police concluded a child molestation investigation with the arrest of Joshua J. Surface, 40, Warsaw. Surface was arrested on a warrant while walking on North Lake Street in Warsaw, following the investigation involving Surface and a 10-year-old girl. The investigation alleges that on several occasions since April, Surface and the girl had sexual encounters at a west side apartment, where Surface lived with the girl’s mother. Surface was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on multiple Class A and Class C felony charges of child molesting. His bond was set at $100,000. Warsaw police were assisted in their investigation by the Winona Lake Police Department, Indiana Department of Child Services and the Kosciusko County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
