A Warsaw man was arrested Tuesday on a warrant for child molesting after allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 10-year-old girl.
According to an affidavit filed by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, a Warsaw Police officer met with a child services caseworker on Feb. 27 who said the young girl had told her John M. Hale, 57, of 511 E. Clark St., Warsaw, had sexually abused her multiple times. The girl told the caseworker Hale had kissed and touched her inappropriately and had intercourse with her.
According to the affidavit, the alleged abuse took place between January 2010 and November 2012 at Hale’s residence and that it had occurred approximately 20 times.
Hale had also allegedly molested the victim’s mother and older sister, according to the affidavit, though Hale only admitted to having a sexual relationship with two of the three alleged victims.
Hale’s wife told police she knew Hale was having a sexual relationship with two of the three alleged victims.
Hale was arrested Tuesday afternoon on a charge of child molesting, a Class A felony, and held in the Kosciusko County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
