Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested a Warsaw man this morning on multiple charges after an early morning domestic incident.

Miguel Angel Malagon, 41, Warsaw, was arrested and charged with felony intimidation, criminal recklessness with a vehicle, felony fleeing law enforcement and invasion of privacy (violation of a protective order).

Bail had not yet been set for Malagon at the time of this release.

KCSD officers were dispatched to a call of a possible missing person today around 5:30 a.m. at Maple Leaf Farms, intersection of CRs 900N and 200E, Leesburg.

Prior to officers’ arrival, the Kosciusko County 911 Center received information that the missing female, Maria R. Malagon, 34, Warsaw, was possibly being held against her will by her estranged husband,  Miguel Malagon, in the area of Ind. 15 and CR 900N.

As KCSD deputy Travis Shively arrived in the area, he located two vehicles north of the intersection on Ind. 15. Miguel Malagon immediately attempted to leave as Shively had his emergency lights activated, and Malagon drove around Shively’s squad car that was blocking Ind. 15.  Shively pursued Malagon southbound until it suddenly stopped at the intersection of CR 900N.

Miguel Malagon was taken into custody at gunpoint without incident.

During the investigation it was determined that Miguel Malagon had allegedly rammed his vehicle into his wife’s vehicle earlier and forced her off the roadway. Investigators believe the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute as the Malagons are currently separated.
