A Warsaw man was arrested after allegedly hitting another man with a handgun.
Camdin Glen Phipps, 18, of 4811 N. Brookfield Circle East, Warsaw, is charged with battery with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony.
He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 4:19 p.m. Tuesday on a $20,000 preliminary bond.
According to the probable cause affidavit, at approximately 6:20 p.m. Monday, Kosciusko County Dispatch advised law enforcement Phipps hit a man in the face with a handgun.
The Warsaw Police Department officer spoke with a woman who said she received a Facetime call from the victim that showed him bleeding from his face. The victim told the woman Phipps hit him with a handgun. The officer located fresh blood drops on the sidewalk and spoke with a man.
The man said the victim exited the residence and spoke with Phipps. Phipps then hit the victim in the face with a handgun. The man said the victim fell to the ground and Phipps entered a separate residence. The man assisted the victim into the residence, provided first aid for his injuries and the victim left on foot. Officers were unable to locate the victim.
At approximately 8:18 p.m., Kosciusko County Dispatch told law enforcement of an injured person near a bridge. The caller said they located the victim and he had visible injures. Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to the hospital.
A WPD officer spoke with the victim, who said he walked out of the apartment and Phipps hit him a gun. The victim said he fell to the ground and Phipps walked away with the gun in his hand.
The officer spoke with another woman, who said she, Phipps and one other person arrived at the residence and the woman saw the victim on the sidewalk. The woman said Phipps and the victim argued and Phipps hit the victim one time.
