A Warsaw man has been arrested in connection with a September drunk-driving accident at the intersection of U.S. 30 and CR 500W.
Curtis Dye, 41, of 4648 W. CR 500W, was charged March 14 with driving while intoxicated and causing serious bodily injury, a Class D felony, and criminal recklessness inflicting serious bodily injury, a Class D felony.
Just after 6:30 p.m. Sept. 23, Dye was driving across U.S. 30 and did not see a small SUV and struck the vehicle driven by 47-year-old Charlene Frye, Clark Street, Warsaw.
Frye had to be cut from the vehicle before she was taken to the hospital. Frye and her husband, Leon, 51, who was ejected from the vehicle, were airlifted to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne and listed in critical condition.
Dye received minor injuries and was released from Kosciusko Community Hospital shortly after.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Chad Hill said that prior to arresting Dye, the county and the prosecutor’s office had to review the case and wait for the results of the blood drawn from Dye.
Dye was arrested Friday and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on $1,500 bond.
