A Warsaw man was arrested Monday after allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girl. A Kosciusko County Sheriff’s deputy responded Monday to a possible rape on East CR 200N in Warsaw, according to an affidavit filed by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office. The affidavit states that when the officer arrived, he observed a female, later identified to be 14 years old, outside in the grass, crying. A male subject informed the officer that the girl had been raped inside the residence and the suspect was still inside. As the officer approached the residence he met another male subject who advised the victim was his daughter and that Juan Ramon Juarez, 21, Warsaw, had raped her. The officer met with Juarez, who said he did have sex with the girl and turned around and allowed the officer to place him in handcuffs. The officer later spoke with a neighbor who said his wife told him to go to Juarez’s residence and check on the girl because the neighbor’s son had told his parents the victim was being hurt. When the neighbor went to the residence and knocked on the bathroom door, he told police, Juarez yelled “everything is okay in here.” The neighbor proceeded to break down the bathroom door and allegedly witnessed Juarez on the floor with the girl having sex with her. A member of the Sexual Assault Treatment Center in Fort Wayne spoke with the victim, who said she had consented to sex with Juarez but Juarez knew she was only 14 because she told him. Juarez was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail and preliminarily charged with sexual misconduct with a minor and held on a $100,000 bond.
