Warsaw Man Airlifted After Motorcycle-Deer Accident

A Warsaw motorcyclist was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital after receiving extensive leg injuries and lacerations when his motorcycle collided with a deer early this morning. The motorcyclist. Todd E. Engle, 48, Warsaw, was northbound on Country Club Road just north of CR 500 South at approximately 7:32 a.m. A deer ran out onto the roadway and collided with his 2005 Yamaha V Star motorcycle, causing it to skid off the west side of the roadway into a ditch area. Engle was entangled with both the deer and motorcycle until passing motorist and emergency personal arrived. Engle was airlifted from the scene by Samaritan and transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center in serious condition with extensive leg injuries as well as lacerations. The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department was assisted at the scene by the Kosciusko County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team, Warsaw-Wayne Township Fire Department, and Multi-Township E.M.S. Engle was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
