Staff Report-
After a successful 2014 event, raising more than $25,000 to support Hoosier military families, Ride Indiana will return this year and through Warsaw. Ride Indiana is a four-day, 300-plus mile bicycling journey across Indiana, led by wounded heroes and passionate cyclists, to raise funds to assist Hoosier military families. The ride commences in Bloomington Thursday and will finish at Monument Circle, downtown Indianapolis, Sunday. The ride consists of active-duty military, veterans, civilians and anyone who desires to raise funds for local military families. Funds are raised through individual fundraising by each rider, corporate and individual sponsorships, Ride Indiana gear sales, and local fundraisers conducted throughout the ride. At 6 p.m. Friday, the team will arrive at Susie’s Sand Bar and Grill, Warsaw, for dinner, a fundraiser and a meet-and-greet with the local community. At 7 a.m. Saturday, the team will meet with Mayor Joe Thallemer and local police and bicyclists for photos at Owens East before departing town. Local bicyclists are encouraged to join the Ride Indiana Team for a portion of the ride south towards Indianapolis.
