Warsaw Graduate Named National Video Contest FinalistKate Koontz, a recent Warsaw Community High School graduate, was named a national finalist in the Intellectual Property Owners Educational Foundation Video Contest.
Her video was inspired by her great-grandfather, who developed numerous inventions but never took time to patent them. Although his ideas didn't make him rich, a version of his story may still help his granddaughter pay for college, according to a news release from Warsaw Community Schools.
Koontz created her video as a part of a videography class at the Warsaw Area Career Center this spring, and now Koontz’s creative video just landed her one of the four national finalist spots chosen by IPOEF judges.
With the public’s help, she has a chance to win up to $9,500. Vote for Koontz in the 16-18-year-old category so she can win a $7,500 scholarship. She also has a chance to win another $2,000 if people like her video on Facebook.
Help Kate win one or both by giving her a like on Facebook and voting for her at the IPOEF website, www.ipoef.org/2018-ip-video-contest-vote/. To vote you'll need to enter your email.
To like her video on Facebook, visit facebook.com/WaccTv/ for the pinned post.
Be sure to like the post and not the generic IPOEF page. Voting ends Aug. 31.
