A Warsaw company will get some air time on ABC's "World News" with Charles Gibson Wednesday.
Bret Wolf, sales and marketing, with Indiana Vac-Form Inc., said the company is part of a segment for the network reporting on the economy and Northern Indiana. Network representatives visited parts of Northern Indiana, including Kosciusko and Elkhart counties, to focus on area industries, including the RV industry. ABC also visited Ivy Tech because Ivy Tech is trying to train people to enter the job market in new ways. The core business of Indiana Vac-Form Inc., which is located in the airport industrial park near Biomet, is Thermal Forming and Manufacturing. One of Indiana Vac-Form's key customers is Sunrise Solar, another Indiana customer. For Sunrise, Vac-Form manufactures a solar-powered attic ventilator, Wolf said. Vac-Form's involvement is thermal forming the plastics, and building, packing and shipping them worldwide from Warsaw.
"World News" producer Drew Millhon and anchor/correspondent Bill Weir were in Kosciusko and Elkhart counties Monday, leaving Indiana Vac-Form at 5:30 p.m. They flew back to New York Monday night.
Wolf said the news segment that features Warsaw will be about 2-1/2 minutes. Wolf said he heard Millhon say he wished they had come to Indiana Vac-Form first.
Wolf said Vac-Form has shipped Sunrise products to Hawaii, Dubai, Caymen Islands, French West Indies, Spain, Puerto Rico, Cook Islands, Greece and Israel.
"It's just refreshing that in this weak economy, Sunrise's growth has been steady to strong," Wolf said.
Sunrise started gaining nationwide attention in 2007. In 2007, Sunrise received the Energy Patriot Award from Sen. Richard Lugar.
Wolf said the more products that are focused on energy independence, the better.
