Warsaw Community Schools Announces Late Registration And Open House Events

Late registration for Warsaw Community Schools will take place Wednesday from 2 to 6 p.m.; Aug. 1 from 4 to 8 p.m.; and Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a time for parents new to the corporation or families with a kindergarten student to enroll their children. The office staff and computer lab will also be available for those who have not previously registered online and for parents needing additional information for the 2013-14 school year. Textbook rental payments will be accepted at this time. Teacher assignments may not be completed, specifically at the elementary level. Classrooms may not be available for visiting and teachers will not be present For those students enrolling in middle school or the high school, they may find classes and lockers during the times listed. If you are a returning family to the corporation, you can register your child online now by visiting powerschool.warsaw.k12.in.us/public For questions about registration, call 574-371-5098 or your neighborhood school. Other “welcome” events include: • Claypool Elementary Open House will be Aug. 12 from 4 to 5 p.m. for all students in preschool to sixth grade. Students and parents are welcome to meet their teacher at this time. • Eisenhower Elementary will host an open house Aug. 12 from 3 to 5 p.m. • Harrison Elementary will hold a “Meet Your Teacher Night” Aug. 12 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. for all grade levels. • Jefferson Elementary will hold an open house Aug. 12 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for kindergarten and new families, from 6:30 to 7 p.m. for first through third grade, and 7 to 7:30 p.m. for fourth through sixth grade. • Leesburg Elementary Open House will be Aug. 12 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. for all students in preschool to sixth grade. Class lists will be posted. Students and parents are welcome to meet their teacher at this time. • Lincoln Elementary will hold an open house Aug. 12 from 4 to 5 p.m. Parents are encouraged to bring their child in to the school to meet the teachers and put supplies in their child’s desk. The PTO will be serving hot dogs in the cafeteria from 5 to 6 p.m. • Madison Elementary will host a “Back to School Open House” Aug. 12 from 4 to 6 p.m. Class lists will be posted. Have a chance to meet your teacher and enjoy some ice cream. • Washington STEM Academy will hold a “Welcome to Washington STEM Academy” event Aug. 12 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Join the staff for dinner as the Washington PTO will provide pulled pork sandwiches, salad, cookies and beverages. • Lakeview Middle School will have a parent night Aug. 21 starting at 6:30 p.m. • Edgewood Middle School will have a parent night Aug. 21 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. • Warsaw Community High School will host a freshman orientation Aug. 8 starting at 5 p.m. For more information about open house events, contact your school directly.
