Wawasee Falls By One Shot To Culver Academies

SYRACUSE – Belle Brunner posted a 1-over par 37 for Wawasee in its 171-172 loss to visiting Culver Academies in a non-conference girls golf match at Maxwelton Golf Club Wednesday.

Tate Cowan shot a 42 for the Warriors. Other Wawasee scores were Jadison Rostochak, 44; Taylor Cripe, 49; and Ava Harker, 51.

“One seventy-two is a really good score for us,” said Wawasee head coach Steve Coverstone. “This is the type of play we need going in to the end of the year. We lost to a very good team by one shot, but we played well.”

Culver Academies also won the junior varsity match, 203-219.

The Warriors have a road trip to Fremont today for a match before Saturday’s Northern Lakes Conference tournament at Stonehenge Golf Club in Winona Lake.
