Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department has a new addition to its roster.
Deputy sheriff Tom Waikel recently replaced a vacancy within the sheriff’s department road patrol division.
Waikel began his law enforcement career in 2005 at the Milford Police Department as a reserve, before being hired full time as a deputy marshal for the Syracuse Police Department.
Waikel attended Warsaw Community High School, Purdue University, and is a 2006 graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.
Waikel is a native of Kosciusko County and has recently been assigned to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department road patrol division.
Sheriff Rocky Goshert said Waikel was selected from a large group of excellent candidates and will be a great asset to the department as well as the citizens of Kosciusko County.
