Poll workers at several polling locations in Warsaw  said voting was slow during this morning’s primary.

Although poll workers said voter turnout is generally lower in the primary than in the general election in November, they expect voting to pickup this afternoon.

Voting is from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

There are 511 registered voters for the Warsaw Second Ward, Second Precinct at Warsaw City Hall.

As of 8:30 this morning there were 20-25 voters who voted at the site, according to Jenny Henning, Warsaw  2-2 poll inspector.

Adam Hyde, Warsaw 2-2 poll judge, who assisted voters with the voting machines, said he expects voting to pick up at lunch time.

Voting at the Center Lake Pavilion for the Fifth Ward first, second and third precincts also was slow this morning.

Warren Tatter, poll inspector for the Fifth Ward, third precinct, said there were two people waiting to vote at 6 a.m. at the precinct.

Tatter, who has been a poll inspector for the past 10 years, said he expects voting to pick up this afternoon.

In Warsaw 5-3 at Center Lake Pavilion, there are 472 registered voters, and there were 16 people who voted as of 8:30 a.m., according to Robin Stamm, Warsaw 5-3 poll inspector.

In Warsaw 5-1 there are 538 voters and there were 40 people who voted, according to Shirley Tatter, Warsaw 5-1 poll inspector.

Don Taylor, Warsaw 2-1 poll inspector, said it is his fifth year for serving as a poll worker.

“Voting turnout is light, but I hope it picks up an lunch and when people get off at work,” Taylor said.
