Vote Scheduled On Milford Town Budget

MILFORD -ÊAfter holding a 2000 budget hearing Monday with no remonstrators, the Milford Town Council will now vote on the budget at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 13.

The 2000 budget, based on a net assessed valuation of $14,304,130, is estimated to be $725,947 with maximum funds to be raised estimated at $344,487. The 1999 tax levy is $330,618.

The biggest part of the budget estimate is the general fund, with an estimate of $403,706; followed by the motor vehicle highway fund, estimated at $191,341.

Other funds and their 2000 budget estimate include the local road and street at $30,000; cumulative capital improvements, $35,000; cumulative capital developments, $30,000; cumulative sewer, $25,000; cumulative capital improvement cigarette tax, $10,000; and police education fund, $900.

Clerk-treasurer Charlotte Siegfried said, "This is our best guess as to what we'll get."

Milford Town Council includes President Robert Beer II, Doug Ruch and Donald Wolferman. The council meets on the second Tuesday of every month.
