Volunteers Needed For United Way Day of Caring

Posted
Volunteers are needed for United Way’s Day of Caring.

This year, the Day of Caring is Aug. 17. There are approximately 130 projects, and volunteers are needed to complete the projects.

The 2011 Day of Caring projects are now posted on www.volunteerkosciusko.org by town.

There are projects available in 12 communities in  Kosciusko County.

Volunteers are needed for special skills including carpentry and plumbing.

A team leader is needed for each project. Team leaders will be required to attend a town meeting prior to the event.

People who want to help out can contact United Way who will assign the person to a team.

Posted on the website are two volunteer forms – the volunteer release form and the volunteer information form.

These forms should be printed and completed and sent to the United Way office. All volunteers working on the Day of Caring must complete and sign the volunteer release form.

Once people have selected a project by its number,  they can call, e-mail or fax United Way when their selection will be confirmed.

Lunch is being provided by local churches.
