Vickie’s Second Annual Dog Parade will be Saturday at the Kosciusko County Farmers Market in downtown Warsaw. This parade is a fundraiser for the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County. The parade will be held on Center Street between Buffalo and Lake streets in downtown Warsaw. The parade featured more than 25 dogs of many breeds last year. It also is a tribute to Vickie Boraker, who was an avid dog lover. Boraker died in May 2012 at age 50 from cancer, and she always wanted to organize a dog parade for the AWL. Boraker was one of event coordinator Cindy Stier’s friends. The parade begins at 10 a.m. and people may enter their dog 30 minutes prior to the start for a chance to win a prize. People also may win for the smallest or largest dog, best costume, best trick or owner and dog look-alike. A small donation to the AWL will give people a chance to show off their dog, win a prize and contribute to the AWL. Needed items for the AWL are paper towels, hand sanitizer, pet toys and dog collars. Call Stier at 574-527-1597 for more information.
