Valley To Host Community Meeting On Gang Awareness

AKRON - The Tippecanoe Valley School Corp., in cooperation with the Akron Police Department, the Mentone Police Department, and the Akron Community Relations Task Force, will host a community meeting on the topic of gang awareness.The Community Meeting on Gang Awareness will be in the Tippecanoe Valley High School Lecture Room at 7 p.m. June 17.
The Kosciusko County Gang Task Force will present important information about current gang activity in Kosciusko County and surrounding areas. Participants in the meeting will learn what constitutes a gang, who typically joins a gang and why, what gang members wear, the signs of gang activity, the warning signs of gang involvement, and what individuals and communities can do to discourage gang activity.
The Community Meeting on Gang Awareness is open to the public. Community members concerned about the well-being of the youth and the communities within the Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. are encouraged to attend.
