To Hold Lakeside Service
AKRON – There's a communitywide men's Bible study group meeting on Saturday mornings at Egg Town Coffee (formerly Java Jacks) in Mentone. Men from several area churches are participating and all are welcome. Breakfast is at 8 a.m. and the study starts at 9 a.m.
On Sunday, worship at Beaver Dam Community Church, 9798 W. CR 1000S, Akron, is at 8 a.m. at the Beaver Dam Lake boat launch (if raining a cancellation call will be made by 7:30 a.m.) or at 9:30 a.m. at church with coffee refreshments served from 9 to 9:30 a.m.
On Tuesday, the BDW meeting is at 9 a.m.
On July 25, the pavilion is reserved.
Miller To Start A New Series
MENTONE – The community is invited to Mentone United Methodist Church on Sunday for worship at 10:15 a.m. Pastor Dana Miller begins a new sermon series, “Three Simple Rule.” Sunday’s message will be “Do No Harm.” The scripture is Exodus 20:1-17.
The Northern Indiana Food Bank will hold a food distribution July 23 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the alley behind the church.
This year Mentone United Methodist Church is excited to be hosting a one-day vacation Bible school July 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is a unique VBS in that it has been crafted locally with the needs of students in mind. The theme is Kindness is Cool. The morning will identify some big bad bullies in the Bible. The afternoon will be spent identifying characters of the Bible who are kind to others. Bible stories, skits, role playing, science, crafts, games and lunch will be a part of the day. Students finishing fifth and sixth grades will also participate in an escape room. Students finishing prekindergarten through those finishing sixth grade are invited. Registration can be done by using the link vbspro.events/p/mumcvbskindnessiscool2026. Claypool UMC To Hold Rummage Sale
CLAYPOOL – There will be a rummage sale at Claypool United Methodist Church, 103 S. Church St., Claypool, Friday and Saturday. The doors open at 9 a.m. and close at 3 p.m. The proceeds from the sale will be used to purchase school supplies for Claypool Elementary School students.
There will be Bible study at 9:30 a.m. Sunday followed by 10:30 a.m. worship led by Keith Priser. Priser’s sermon “Sing Praise” is from Psalms 105:1-6. They will be reminded that singing helps them tell the story of God‘s faithfulness.
The devotional group will meet on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. Praise team will have practice and planning at 5:30 p.m.
