Undercover Purchases Net More Than 100 Synthetic Cannabinoid Packages In Syracuse

SYRACUSE – More than 100 packages of synthetic marijuana were seized Friday during the search of a Syracuse business.
Syracuse Police Department served a search warrant on “The What You Want” store, 503 S. Huntington St., Friday.
According to police, the business has been under investigation by the department and the Indiana State Police for several months.
The investigation was for the sale of synthetic cannabinoids, known on the street as “spice” or “K2,” according to police.
Undercover purchases of the product were made and upon testing, it was determined that the substance being sold at the store was illegal.
With the assistance of the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, a search warrant was obtained and served on the business. During the execution of the warrant, more than 100 packages of the synthetic drug were found along with records of transactions.
Arrests are expected out of this investigation, which is ongoing, according to police.
Syracuse Police Department was assisted in the investigation by the  prosecutor’s office, state police and undercover narcotics officers from other law enforcement agencies.
