Two people were injured in a fire this morning at a Warsaw mobile home park. An unattended candle is being blamed for the fire that destroyed the residence.
Terresa McDonald, no age available, of Hide-Away Hills, 2441 W. CR250S #154, Warsaw, suffered smoke inhalation while trying to battle the blaze on her own with a garden hose until firefighters arrived at the scene of the 4:07 a.m. fire.
McDonald was still being treated and evaluated at Kosciusko Community Hospital at press time. Warsaw Fire Department Chief Matt Warren said he believed McDonald would be admitted to the hospital.
Also injured was McDonald's grandson, Michael James Stork, who suffered burns to his arm. Stork, whose age and address were not available, was treated at the scene for his injuries.
According to the WFD, a candle left burning unattended overnight in a bathroom caught nearby linens on fire and the fire then spread throughout the home. The mobile home and its contents are listed as a total loss.
Firefighters said the family also lost a couple of pets in the fire.
