SYRACUSE – Fourth of July fireworks weren’t enough bang for two Goshen men, who are now in jail facing charges of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon. William J. Rose, 24, and Matthew S. Rhodes, 22, both of Goshen, were arrested in Syracuse after they fired 11 rounds from a handgun into the air. Syracuse Police Department responded to the incident on Lake Street just north of Main at 11:16 p.m. to the report of shots being fired. The two men passed the handgun between each other and fired 11 rounds into the air. No one was injured as a result of the incident. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the scene. Both men were booked into Kosciusko County Jail on $5,000 bonds.
