A Warsaw man was transported to the hospital Friday after his motorcycle collided with a vehicle. According to a Warsaw Police Department crash report, a vehicle driven by Ericka L. Sutton, 18, Sharon Street, Winona Lake, was attempting to turn south onto Detroit Street from the Arby’s parking lot just before 11 a.m. Friday. Sutton stated she looked both ways and did not see any oncoming traffic, so she proceeded out of the parking lot. As her vehicle entered the roadway, Sutton saw a motorcycle, driven by Emmanuel R. Long, 23, North Old 15, Warsaw, traveling north on Detroit Street. Though Long used his horn, the vehicles collided. Just prior to impact, Sutton said she saw Long jump off his motorcycle but the motorcycle continued forward and collided with her vehicle. Long stated he and Sutton made eye contact, but Sutton still pulled out of the parking lot in front of him. He said just as they were about to collide, Sutton accelerated forward and he applied the brake so hard he fell off his motorcycle. Sutton complained of pain and was treated on scene by medics. Long was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital to be treated for abrasions. Damage was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
