MILFORD - A Syracuse man, who admitted to police he had been drinking, was hurt early Saturday morning after the car he was driving left the roadway.
According to a report from the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Vincent D. Maher, 21, E. Lapoint Drive, Syracuse, was driving along Bowser Road at the intersection of CR 250E in Milford.
Maher stated an animal in the roadway caused him to overcorrect his vehicle. The vehicle then left the roadway and flipped several times before coming to a stop.
Maher was ejected from the vehicle.
Maher and a passenger, Clifford Force, 21, Fort Polk, Tenn., were transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital.
While at KCH, Maher was found to have suffered internal injuries and was airlifted to a Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Maher has since been discharged from the hospital.
According to KCSD Deputy Shane Bucher, both Maher and Force admitted to have been drinking that night.
Force was reported to have suffered a chest contusion.
The damage estimate of the accident was between $10,000 to $25,000.
