Two people were injured in separate off-road vehicle accidents New Year's Day in Kosciusko County.

Kyle Turner, 30, of West Raccoon Lane, Claypool, suffered a head injury and a possible broken collarbone when the off-road vehicle he was operating flipped over.

According to a Department of Natural Resources report, Turner was purposely spinning his off-road vehicle on the ice-covered Beaver Dam Lake when the 3:30 p.m. accident occurred.

Turner was treated for his injuries at Kosciusko Community Hospital and later released.

In a 4 p.m. accident, 12-year-old Kristy Angiano of South East Channel Road, Warsaw, suffered knee and hand injuries when she was struck by a four-wheeler on the southeast side of Sellers Lake, near Pierceton.

A DNR report indicates the 50-cc four-wheeler was being operated by Jamie Hope, 10, of Larwill, when Angiano reportedly jumped in front of the moving vehicle.

Because Hope was operating the vehicle on an ice-covered surface, she was unable to stop the four-wheeler and inadvertently struck Angiano, according to the report.

Angiano was treated at KCH and released.
