Warsaw Police Department detectives arrested two persons Tuesday involved in a July 30 drug transaction and subsequent high speed chase.
On July 30, Warsaw undercover drug officers were involved in a drug transaction with Brandon Adkins, 27, of 2212 Highlander Drive, Warsaw. A chase occurred after Adkins stopped for a traffic stop in Warsaw, and then fled as officers approached the car, and traveled north on Ind. 15.
As a result, one person in the car jumped from the car near the intersection of CR 900N and Ind. 15, and was later transferred to a Fort Wayne hospital and released.
The vehicle, a 2007 Lexus, fled the scene and was not immediately located.
The last contact with Adkins and a second subject in the car, Tiffany Anderson, 30, of 2441 W. CR 250S, Warsaw, was by telephone in Westfield, a suburb of Indianapolis, that night.
Based on the information known to police, charges of conspiracy to deal in methamphetamine and fleeing law enforcement, both felonies, were filed against Adkins and Anderson.
Information was obtained that the pair, along with a third subject, traveled to Lakeland, Fla. Lakeland police did locate a relative’s address there, but were unable to locate them there at the time.
On Sunday, Tennessee police were involved in a high-speed pursuit with Adkins and Anderson after the vehicle had been checked alongside a roadway, and fled when scrutinized. They were successful in fleeing Tennessee police.
Adkins and Anderson did contact Warsaw detectives Sunday, and did make arrangements to turn themselves in to police.
Tuesday, both suspects were located and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail for the pending charges and will be arraigned for those charges in the next few days. Adkins bond was set at $1,000,500 and Anderson’s was set at $50,000.
The investigation continues.
A third subject in the vehicle at the time of the July 30 pursuit is still being investigated and possible charges may be filed on that person.
