Two Arrested after Undercover Drug Buy in Syracuse

SYRACUSE – Two Fort Wayne residents were arrested Tuesday on drug-related charges in Syracuse.
Kosciusko County Drug Task Force made an undercover purchase of prescription medication at 201 Green Haus Drive, Syracuse, yesterday.
At approximately 8:55 p.m. Tuesday, the Syracuse Police Department and Drug Task Force officers purchased pills from Stefanie Brickey, 36, Fort Wayne.
After the purchase was made, Brickey was taken into custody as she was leaving the apartment.
Officers also arrested a male accomplice who was in her vehicle. He was identified as Justin Baker, 31, also of Fort Wayne.
During the arrest of Baker, the officers discovered an active one-pot meth lab on the front floor board of the vehicle.
A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up several grams of meth, several precursor items and needles.
Brickey was charged with dealing a Schedule II controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a family housing complex and manufacturing methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a family housing complex, both as Class A felonies.
Brickey was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on those charges.
Baker was charged with the same charges, also both as Class A felonies and booked into the jail.
The officers were assisted by the Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team who was called in to clean up and remove the meth lab.
