AKRON — Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation (TVSC) announced another stellar year of foundational reading results.
Following a 95% passing rate in 2025, TVSC students achieved a 95.1% passing rate on the most recent IREAD-3 assessments, according to a news release from TVSC.
This sustained high achievement reflects the district's commitment to early literacy and student success, the release states. District leadership attributes these outcomes to a deliberate, systemwide focus on explicit reading instruction, with an intentional emphasis on phonics, oral reading fluency and comprehensive comprehension skills from the earliest grade levels.
"These results are a direct reflection of the extraordinary hard work of our students and the relentless dedication of our teachers," said Inga Omondi, TVSC's director of curriculum, instruction and assessment. "Achieving and maintaining a benchmark above 95% does not happen by accident. It is the result of intentional, daily instructional practices — grounded in explicit phonics, fluency, and comprehension — and the collaborative effort of our entire educational community to ensure every child builds the strong reading foundation they deserve."
TVSC remains dedicated to continuous improvement and providing educators with the instructional frameworks and resources necessary to support every student on their path to becoming proficient, confident readers, the release states.
