Turbine to be Raised at Tippy Valley Oct. 17

AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. received notice the assembly of the 900 kW wind turbine to be erected on the Tippecanoe Valley High School/Tippecanoe Valley Middle School campus is scheduled to begin Oct. 17.

The three-day process of erecting the wind turbine will be completed by Broadwind Services (www.bwen.com) under the supervision of the manufacturer, PowerWind (www.powerwind.de) of Hamburg, Germany.

The public is invited to view the assembly of the wind turbine. Parking and viewing areas have been designated for viewer safety and to maintain traffic flow. 

Viewers will be required to park in the northwest corner of the north parking area, directly across from the concession, restroom and ticket facility that serves as the north entrance to the football field.

To reach the viewing area, the public must pass through the gate entrance to the baseball field and walk directly west.  The entrance will be marked "Wind Turbine Viewing Area."

The viewing area will be roped off and bleacher seating will be available. For viewer safety, no one will be allowed beyond the designated area.
