A Warsaw man was injured Sunday after driving into a house on Johnson Street.

Eric D. White, 28, EMS C30 Lane, Warsaw, was driving on Lindberg Street around 6:19 p.m. Sunday when he reportedly had an epileptic seizure and lost control of his pickup.

White hit a 1996 boat trailer in front of the residence at 608 N. Lindberg St. and continued through the front yard at 617 Lindberg St. where he hit a large bush.

The pickup went through a large wooded fence before hitting a basketball post at 816 N. Johnson St.

Johnson's vehicle ran over more bushes before crashing through the exterior wall of the residence at 816 N. Johnson St.

The home, owned by Doug and Rose Ann Hale, sustained extensive damage to cabinets and their contents, a kitchen table and a dishwasher.

"Nobody was in the kitchen area when this happened," said Captain Tim Hood of the Warsaw Fire Department.Ê "It's too soon to talk about the cost of the damage now, but they are very lucky."

"I hope the young man in the truck is okay," said RoseAnn Hale.Ê "Luckily, we're all fine.ÊI had just set the table and walked out into the family room to sit down.ÊMy husband had just walked out to put the van inÊtheÊgarage and the kitchen exploded.ÊIt took out the dining area and all the cupboards.Ê We're blessed, though ... it could have been worse."

White suffered a scrape to his head and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, where a doctor said his symptoms were consistent with an epileptic seizure.

The estimated damage from the incident is $25,000 to $50,000.

The Warsaw Police Department investigated the accident.
