Triton Struggles Defensively In Loss To Oregon-Davis

BOURBON – Jaela Faulkner scored 13 points, but the Triton girls basketball team suffered a 67-42 home loss Wednesday to Oregon-Davis. 

Triton (4-13) led 12-6 after the first quarter, but was outscored 26-3 in the second to head into the half down 17. 

The Lady Trojans never recovered in the second half as Oregon-Davis (8-6) cruised to victory. 

Delanie Groves had eight points for Triton, while Taren Yates added seven points.

The Lady Bobcats had four players score in double figures, including Mercedes Rhodes, who had a game-high 16 points. 

Triton will play Tuesday at Winamac in a Hoosier North Athletic Conference matchup.

Squires Swept By Apaches

WABASH – The Manchester boys and girls swim teams lost Wednesday at Wabash. 

Manchester’s girls team lost 92-72, while its boys team fell 90-63. 

Manchester will compete Monday in a home meet against Columbia City. 



Wawasee Splits Difference At Valparaiso

VALPARAISO – The Wawasee JV girls basketball team won one game and lost another against Duneland Conference teams Wednesday at Valparaiso. 

The Lady Warriors (11-4) won 34-31 over Valparaiso.

Becca Smith scored eight points and pulled down 10 rebounds, while Ava Harker had eight points and Kennedy White recorded five points and 11 rebounds. 

Wawasee lost 50-19 to Crown Point. Ella Beezley scored eight points for the Lady Warriors, while Smith grabbed six boards. 



Wawasee Edged By East Noble

SYRACUSE – The Wawasee boys freshman basketball team fell 41-34 Wednesday in a home game against East Noble.

Landon Gause and Caden Welty scored 10 points each for the Warriors, while Gavin Hunziker added eight points. 

Wawasee (7-2) will play Monday at Northridge.
