BOURBON - The Triton school board agreed to sell two parcels of real estate to the Triton School Building Corporation for $137,000 and will use the proceeds for the renovation and improvements to the Junior/Senior high school.
The board also approved the transfer of ownership of the 13.5' of school property on the west side of the fence, by the maintenance building, as requested by landowner Joel Faulkner.
The property is a vacated street that is outside the school fence and has not been maintained by the school for several years. The transfer proposal motion was approved, but will be published and barring any other requests to purchase the property, Transfer will proceed provided Faulkner agrees to the established purchase price.
The board agreed to approve the adoption of a letter to the Indiana Department of Education regarding the unequal funding of Indiana school districts. The letter is a collaboration of surrounding school corporations with the intention of uniting school corporations to alert the Indian legislature.
Board approved the removal of the "Physical" benefit from the Conditions of Employment for the directors and administrators. This is an existing benefit already covered through the insurance trust.
The board approved a motion to leave the two corporation vehicles parked on school property outside school hours. IRS laws clearly state that vehicles leaving the property for personal use could be considered a "taxable fringe benefit" for the employee. This motion protects the corporation from being in violation.
Board also accepted the resignation of Jennifer Mosier as a Destination Imagination coach.
