The Tippecanoe Valley Livestock Skilathon Teams competed at Purdue University in late October. Members had to place classes for wool, hay, cuts of meat; as well as identify animal tools, meat cuts, breeds of cattle, sheep and goats, then take a written test on the livestock industry and a quality assurance quiz. The Senior Team of Petersen, Bewley, Stookey and Peters was 17th out of 157 teams in the FFA Division. The Junior Team of Clauson, K. Jones, Burton and Engle was seventh out of 84 teams in the Junior Division. Other juniors were Shriver, Baker, Mills and Haney, placing 25th. B. Jones, B. Hughes, Caudill and H. Hughes were the 50th place team. Lyla Clauson was 8th high individual out of 284 contestants in the junior division.
