Continuously serving Kosciusko County since 1854
Times-Union sports writer Jeff Holsinger received an award in the Hoosier State Press Association "1997 Blue Ribbon Contest."
Holsinger was awarded first place in the sports event coverage division for his story on the Wawasee Warrior wrestling team's semistate win last year.
"Writing stories can be dull as dirt," the judge of Holsinger's entry said. "This recap, however, had me smiling from the start. Excellent details combined with tight quotes and a lead that grabs you."
Holsinger has been employed at the Times-Union since 1994.
