Tigers’ Jaramillo Takes AOW HonorJunior Juan Jaramillo rushed for 183 yards on 35 carries and scored three touchdowns Friday night in Warsaw’s Class 6A Sectional 2 victory at Chesterton.
For that performance, Jaramillo has been tabbed the Times-Union Athlete of the Week for Oct. 28 - Nov. 2.
For the season, Jaramillo has 1,358 yards on 256 carries, more than double the next highest total on the team. Were he listed on MaxPreps.com, he would rank 31st in the state in rushing.
It’s the second time Jaramillo has won the award this season; he was also the Sept. 14 winner after his game at Elkhart Memorial.
Jaramillo and the Tigers will go for the school’s first-ever football sectional title Friday night when they host Penn. Kickoff at 7 p.m. at Fisher Field.
