Three New Candidates File For Winona Council Seats

Three new candidates have filed for Winona Lake Town Council seats for the May primary.

Philip Hood filed for Winona Lake Ward 1, and Greg Winn and Ronald Shavers have filed for Ward 3.

Filing for Warsaw, Winona Lake and Syracuse began Jan. 19. Filing ends Feb. 18 at noon.

The primary is May 3, and the general election is Nov. 8.

The Ward 1 seat is currently held by Joy Lohse, who will not seek re-election. The Ward 3 seat is currently held by Bruce Shaffner, who previously filed for the seat.

Candidates who have previously filed for Winona Lake positions include Retha Hicks and Kent Adams for clerk-treasurer; Dan Daggett for Ward 1; Terry Howie and John Boal for Ward 2; Sue Gooding for Ward 4; and Randy Swanson for Ward 5.

For Warsaw, Lynne Christiansen has filed for clerk-treasurer; Jeff Grose for Warsaw City Council District 1; Charlie Smith for District 2; Jeff Carroll and Mike Klondaris for District 3; Diane Quance for District 5; and Elaine Call, Dewey Lawshe and Juergen Voss for the two at-large seats.

For Syracuse, Bill Musser filed for District 5, Brian Woody filed for District 4, and Julie Kline filed for clerk-treasurer.
